Classic trio

9.5 INCH DOLLS

Dollmaking has lots of challenges on its way and finding the right supply is just one of them.
Just recently I used all of my stuffing wool and find out myself in the situation where my usual supplier just doesn't have the right one. I think it is such a shame that living in one of the major wool exporting country in the world I had to order the "right" wool from Europe. Probably Australia is just sending overseas most of its raw wool. According to The National Council of Wool Selling Brokers of Australiafor Australia in 2017, exports to China have lifted by 11% despite the dip in May.

So, while I have been waiting for the stuffing wool from Germany, I decided to create 3 little dolls and mostly filled them with great and beautiful Corriedale wool roving. They are classic dolls, their heads have been done in the traditional way. I couldn't help myself and played with the middle headline a bit, so the girls turned out different. If you noticed, none of them has a mouth and I love it, honestly, classic Waldorf dolls can go easily without having one, just add your pure imagination!
By the time two of them have been finished the wool has arrived and the girls shared happiness and excitement with me.

Finding the right girls names was such breeze this time, I just used some beautiful and unique names from Outback House TV series which I discovered on Netflix and has been watching during the time.
Oh, what a series, I watched with such interest and excitement, at the end it was about portraying the inhabitants of a 1860s Australian sheep station.

So, that is how my girls have got their names - Persephone, Portia and Pierette.

The name Persephone means "spring" and that is the exact season we are in right now in Australia. Jacarandas are full of their perfect purple-blue blooms. The days are becoming really hot which in Down Under can only mean Christmas is coming.

I will be over the moon if my girl's trio can end up under some Christmas trees. They will be ready to find their perfect loving homes on November the 1st, at 7 pm EST at Dollectable.

I will post more photos into my gallery.
