Bridget - Natural Fiber Art doll

15 INCH DOLL

Yes, I have to admit that I have a thing for redheads. At the moment there are no red wefts left in my house, I just used all of it. Redhead and green eyes - the cutest combo for me!

So, let me properly introduce you to Bridget.

She is the happiest lil chap in the house, wild and free like any redhead. She is 15 inches tall, has a petite body with jointed legs and can move her head, thanks to a wire armature deep inside her neck. Skirts are not for her, she prefers jeans. We had some experiments together to create this unique piece of denim. Once again I have been thinking that how good is that I have my powerful sewing machine. Can you imagine a real denim fabric with its thickness and how challenging it can be to work with it in a doll clothing scale?! But we did it, even finished it with a bit of distressed look.

I think I need to mention a bit more about her legs - they are able to bend and move really freely and the doll can still stand with some support. If I will be pushy enough, I might be able to convince her to demonstrate her cute legs :)

We finished Bridget's look with fair isle cardigan. Knitting books are something which I usually love to borrow from a library, you never know what you can find here. Last time I got some great book with cutest fair isle patterns. This book, in particular, has lots of different cute and fresh motives with a small number of rows, very easy to knit and incorporate into doll clothes. Here is the book - "Easy fair island knitting" by Martin Storey.

     This is it for today.
